WHO WE ARE
SI Resources Corporation is a member of VelcoAsia Group, an enterprise with more than 30 years of diverse business endeavors in the field of insurance services, property management, shipping, coal mining, logistics, printing and other supply chain solutions to various industries.
On July 14, 2008, Si Resources has evolved from the Silica Division of Rock Energy International Corporation into a wholly owned subsidiary registered with Securities and Exchange Commission. SiO2 Resources is also Si’s duly registered business and trade name.
The name Si Resources Corporation is coined from ”Si”, the chemical symbol of Silica. Silica is the most abundant mineral in the earth’s crust. Every mineral on earth has it either in its purest form, 99.9% SiO2, or displaced by other minerals like alumina, pyrite, calcium compounds, precious metals, etc.
Si Resources’ primary focus is to be a solutions provider to users of high-grade silica sand, domestic silica quartz, hi-alumina feldspar, garden aggregates, coarse and fines river sand and other non-metallic minerals such as selenium and limestone. The company manages the sourcing, supply and on-time delivery of glass grade silica sand and feldspar to the glass manufacturing industry. The Company is also the preferred silica sand provider of leading companies in the metal casting, foundry, ceramic, and specialty chemicals industries. Moreover, for over ten (10) years the Company was the sole provider of domestic silica quartz to the Philippine’s largest fiber-cement board manufacturer and copper smelter.
To support the logistics requirement of high-grade silica sand for the glass manufacturing and other industries, Si Resources operates a 7,000 sq. m. silica storage stockpile in Mabini, Batangas to enhance customers’ expectations of uninterrupted supply of silica materials. This silica storage guarantees the consistent on-time delivery of silica sand materials to valued customers.
In May 2014, one of the world’s top cement company awarded Si Resources a contract to operate the largest domestic active silica-quartz quarry in Ayungon, Negros Oriental to support and sustain its silica requirements as one of their raw materials
